Awaken Your Spiritual Senses!
Tuesday, May 19, 2026
Hebrews 5:14
But solid food is for mature people, who through practice have their senses trained to distinguish between good and evil.
Devotional Reflection
Think about it: a musician practices their instrument daily to hit the right notes, an athlete trains their body to perform at its peak. How much more should we, children of the Most High, train our spiritual senses to live in the fullness of God's power and purpose? This isn't about being perfect, but about being present and intentional in our pursuit of Him. As we consistently engage in spiritual disciplines, we develop a keen sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's promptings, allowing us to walk in greater wisdom, avoid the enemy's snares, and step into the divine assignments God has prepared for us. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to awaken our senses today!
✏️ Practical Application
Today, commit to spending focused time in prayer and reading God's Word, asking the Holy Spirit to sharpen your spiritual discernment. Pay attention to the subtle nudges and impressions you receive throughout your day, and practice responding in obedience to what you believe God is revealing to you.
🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. We pray that You would awaken our spiritual senses, Lord. Train us through Your Word and Your Spirit to distinguish between good and evil, to hear Your voice clearly, and to discern Your will in every situation. May our spiritual ears be open, our spiritual eyes be clear, and our hearts be sensitive to Your leading. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
